Chai. Chai garam’ - The chant grows louder as the train pulls into the rickety railway station. Of the myriad flavours that greet your senses on the railway platforms of India, the most delightful is that of Platform chai.
Young Chaiwallas, balancing wire trays of steaming chai glasses, do brisk business and in no time it’s all gone. What remains is the afterglow of an unforgettable experience. A rich combination of spices with tea, Platform chai captures the entire experience of travelling in India in a single, sibilant sip.
